"The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers approved 1,300 new generic top-level domains, extensions like the .com and the .net, that will be available in the next few years.

Of course, New York City is on that list – and will be available to the general public starting early next month. Last week, .london was introduced to the public and on Monday, .vegas became available. Others already being used include .berlin, .tokyo and .hamburg."
