Loog Guitars, LLC

What inspired you to create this website or entity?

It was a little bit out of pressure: I had to come up with a business idea for my thesis (I was doing my Master's at New York University) and I knew it had to be something I really liked, because I was going to spend the next few months completely absorbed by it. I wanted to create a guitar that made it fun and easy for kids to play music; an instrument that was not just a small, cheap guitar, but one that was well-designed and offered a real benefit for those who use it.

How does your website or entity represent or contribute to the local community or borough which you represent?

I'd like to think that my love of NYC -and particularly the Upper West Side- is reflected on what we do. I know I'm inspired by the city, its diversity, its own relationship with design and music and the opportunities that seem to pop up in every corner. I wrote the whole Loog concept at the Lincoln Center David Rubenstein Atrium, and every single day I went there, for almost a year, I marveled at the fact that I was using a public space, that I could go there with my notebook and work with public wifi while I listened to great music and was immersed in such an inspiring environment. Since then, I proudly present our company as a New York entity everywhere I go.
