What inspired you to create this website or entity?
The main inspiration for this site was to showcase our amazing community. Prospect Heights has evolved into a buzzing commercial hub with the arrival of the Barclays stadium, yet the sense of community and fellowship still exists. The simple day to day interaction of human beings, the love, the smiles, the NYC grit and energy of the human spirit is what we tried to showcase primarily. It simply wasn't an attempt to show people lifting weights. Any gym website can do that. Our website is an amalgam of personalities highlighting our belief that any and everyone can be an athlete with the right guidance.
How does your website or entity represent or contribute to the local community or borough which you represent?
Our website and entity, CrossFit Prospect Heights, represents Brooklyn to the fullest. We contribute daily to the health and wellness of our clients that make up Prospect Heights and Prospect Heights is after all, Brooklyn. We train the Sargent and Detectives of the NYPD who serve and protect the neighborhood. We train the 25 year old Athlete from 2 block away in the wheelchair who thought "he would never be ale to do any gym stuff again". We train the pregnant Mom from up the block, the 14 year old kid Basketball player for free because he's only 14 and willingly cleans the gym in exchange for training, we train the business owner from two blocks up who's family has been pillars of the community for decades. We can go on and on. We support my community by being the force that inspires them to invest in their health and wellbeing. We are Brooklyn.
