What inspired you to create this website or entity?

Our company was created when our Founder, Max Gersh, was running his carpet and drapery cleaning business out of Gimbels department store and kept getting work from insurance companies after property damage. His realization that other things in the home likely needed to be cleaned led him to create a damage restoration company. The company grew and changed over the years as Max's sons got involved in the company. But the end goal remained the same - to make the world a better place, one relationship and one project at a time.

How does your website or entity represent or contribute to the local community or borough which you represent?

Maxons is an emergency mitigation damage restoration company - we get involved in helping businesses and individuals recover from property damage, like fires, floods and other issues. Everything we do on a day to day basis has helped our community! Our focus on these recovery efforts is linked very closely to our core value of Sincerity. Our amazing staff invests time and concern in each project to make sure we are addressing the most important concerns of the people affected. By listening and attending to their biggest priorities we are able to make a difficult situation slightly easier. One very simple example of this is making cleaning and packing a box of children?s' toys a priority as a family was relocating while we worked in their home, and we knew they'd need something to entertain their kids with. They were so very appreciative of the extra thought we put in for them. One larger scale example of our dedication and commitment to our community was our response to the tragic events of 9/11. We were recognized within our industry by organizations like RIA, but we also won several awards for our efforts at this time as well, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Inc. 500, Inc. 5000, and Fast Company Magazine?s Fast 50 Champions of Innovation. We have also been instrumental in helping our community recover from Hurricane Irene and Super Storm Sandy. Both these weather events caused wide spread flooding in our region and our team worked around the clock to get service to all those affected. We understand there is nothing quite like the feeling of powerlessness our customers experience after a property damage. Our team is focused on making sure we get them the service they need as quickly as possible, and that we keep them informed of all steps along the way. We do daily check in calls with customers while a job is in progress to make sure we address any concerns they may have right away. We spring into action when others cannot, and we take that responsibility very seriously.
